LQR-Based Adaptive Virtual Inertia for Grid Integration of Wind Energy Conversion System Based on Synchronverter Model

This paper proposes adaptive virtual inertia for the synchronverter model implemented in a wind turbine generator system integrated into grid through back-to-back converter. A linear dynamic is developed proposed inertia, which employs frequency deviation and rotor angle of as state variables droop gain control variables. In addition, uses quadratic regulator to ensure optimal balance between fast response stress during disturbances. Hence, it minimizes deviations with minimum effort. Several case simulations are carried out MATLAB/Simulink software, results demonstrate effectiveness feasibility based on regulator. The maximum frequency, rate change integral time-weighted absolute error computed quantify performance inertia. These indexes reduced by 46.61%, 52.67%, 79.41%, 34.66%, worst case, when compared conventional model.
